Today the podcast team I’ve been a part of for a year launches publicly on Apple, Spotify, and all other podcast platforms!
If you’re going to try one episode start here with my discussion with Kara Goucher about our very different life experiences with super shoes. It’s safe to say that before Kara and I met virtually a year ago as part of Relay we did not like each other.
But we didn’t even know one another. I hope you’ll take the time to enjoy us unpacking the history of “Super Shoes.”
Spoiler: I was the first person ever to race in them, and she was the first person to controversially miss out on an Olympic team because of them.
So there’s a lot to unpack…
You may be wondering “What is Relay?”
A year ago my friend Matt Chittim called me with an idea. What if we gathered up seven other avid running content creators to form a team to make podcasts, videos, and essays? And what if we put all of our unique material behind a paywall on Patreon?
That sounds fun I thought. That could work.
Well, the former has been a smashing success. The latter not so much.
Over the past year, our team of nine has formed, evolved, and had hilarious fun along the way. There are no shortage of individual shows, videos, or writers in the running space, what Relay offers is an engaging, diverse, and fun variety of perspectives on a range of topics. From discussions on upcoming events, to how to prepare for major races. From debating the sport’s latest controversies to monthly book clubs on favorite titles, we keep evolving, trying things, and having fun along the way.
Bottom line: Relay is like enjoying a run with friends.
We’re going public because it turns out that most people don’t know what to make of Patreon. Or paywalls. From today on Relay will publish twice a week!
We’re so excited about this. We’ve been having a ton of fun together and are thrilled to bring this joy to a broader audience.
So, check it out, join in the discussion, and reply directly to me or any of us with ideas for topics that you think the team should take on.
