The first month of Relay out in the public has been incredible. Thank you to all who have joined us. For those who haven’t, I encourage you to check it out, I’ve linked to a few of my favorite recent episodes below.
As you see in the image above, Tommie Runz and Kofuzi brought on the always hilarious and self-deprecating Laura Green, for a conversation about the art/business of being a “Runfluencer.” If you’ve wondered what this side of the social media and content world is like this is a fun place to start.
Our own Kara Goucher called the distance races at the World Athletics Championship two weeks ago and we had so many questions. “Ask Kara Anything” about the behind-the-scenes of being a race announcer. About how the mics work. And why she had to take the shirt off Trey Hardee’s back for an on air shot.
This one hit close to my heart - Book Club with Lindsey Hein about the new book Everything All At Once by Steph Catudel. Many of you know Steph as Tommy Rivs’ wife, but as her book explores, her life to the point of helping Tommy on life support in 2020 was anything but linear. It’s an emotional exploration of life, death, and the in-between when a loved one is sick.
Thank you again for listening along. It’s been a really fun month and it feels like the team is just getting started. You can join the Q+A before episodes over on our Patreon, which you can support at any dollar amount to get in on the fun.
My Writing
As a subscriber, you may be wondering, “This podcast stuff is fine Peter, but what about your writing? What about the essays I expect?!” If so you’re questions match my internal critic who wants to see more production!
After a hectic but fun summer, I’ve got a handful of essays cooking up, as well as a longer project growing closer to being ready to talk about publically.
Thank you for your continued support. Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting Writing On Running.
To the miles ahead,
Peter
